project overview

SAIT is a polytechnic institution in Calgary, Alberta serving thousands of students, staff, and industry partners. In 2025, SAIT underwent a full rebrand, introducing an updated logo, a revised colour palette, new dedicated font families, new gradient background graphics, and new gradient photo overlay graphics with defined guidelines on when and how to use each. Ensuring that this new visual identity was applied accurately and consistently across a high volume of active print collateral was a significant undertaking. I was brought on as a graphic designer through Xerox, who served as SAIT's in-house agency, and was responsible for producing print-ready files across a wide range of materials while supporting the rollout and ongoing application of the new brand system. As a central liaison between multiple internal SAIT departments and print vendors, I managed the full lifecycle of each project from brief review through to final delivery, tracking progress in Monday.com and communicating with stakeholders via Microsoft Outlook throughout. _____________________ Supporting a Full Brand Refresh: With a full rebrand in effect, a key part of my role was conducting systematic audits of existing materials, reviewing typefaces, layout structures, and graphic elements against the new brand guidelines to identify what needed to be updated. I adapted existing InDesign templates to reflect the updated standards, ensuring that the new visual identity was applied accurately across all materials entering production. Custom Gradient System for Youth Initiatives Prior to the 2025 rebrand, I developed a custom gradient for SAIT's Youth Initiatives team that worked within the brand standards in place at the time. The gradient was designed to feel distinct to the program while remaining cohesive with the broader SAIT identity, and was applied consistently across rollup banners, program information sheets, and recruitment materials, giving the Youth Initiatives program a recognizable and unified visual presence. Print Production Across a Wide Range of Collateral: Day-to-day production involved preparing print-ready files in InDesign for a diverse range of materials including rollup banners, business cards, stickers, one-pagers, buttons, and postcards. Each file was produced to print vendor specifications, with quality and accuracy checked at every stage before handoff. _____________________ The Outcome: Over 15 projects and pieces were produced and delivered during my time at SAIT, supporting both the day-to-day print needs of multiple departments and the broader rollout of their 2025 brand refresh. The adapted templates and audit process helped ensure that the new brand identity was applied consistently and accurately across all materials moving through the production pipeline. _____________________ Skills Demonstrated: Print Production · Brand Application · Layout Design · Template Development · Brand Auditing · Stakeholder Liaison · Vendor Communication · Project Management · Adobe InDesign · Adobe Illustrator · Adobe Photoshop · Adobe Acrobat · Monday.com
