project overview

Hudson Pacific Properties needed a more compelling way to communicate the quality and investment value of their properties to potential clients in their Seattle corporate office showroom. Looped TV displays were failing to engage visitors or convey the full appeal of their portfolio across Vancouver, Seattle, and San Francisco markets. The solution was a suite of interactive OLED displays installed beneath 3D acrylic building models, transforming dense neighbourhood data into story-driven, visually rich experiences. I was brought on as a UX/UI Designer through Astound Group to create the UX and visual design of these installations. _____________________ User Personas and Journey Mapping: The design process began with developing user personas and journey maps in Figma to understand how potential clients would engage with the displays and what information would be most meaningful to them at each stage of the experience. This research-grounded approach ensured the content and interactions were shaped around real client motivations, including understanding rental benefits and evaluating neighbourhood desirability. Designing Story-Driven Experiences: Working across Figma and Unity, I developed interactive experiences that guided users through each property market, covering over five buildings per market across Vancouver, Seattle, and San Francisco. The goal was to move away from static data presentation and toward a narrative format that helped potential clients connect with the properties on a more meaningful level, using high-quality visuals and accessible data presentation to communicate what made each location and submarket desirable. Multi-Sensory Installation Design: The displays were designed as one part of a broader multi-sensory showroom experience, sitting beneath physical 3D acrylic building models to create a layered, tactile environment. Design decisions were made with this physical context in mind, ensuring the digital content complemented and enhanced the overall installation rather than competing with it. _____________________ The Outcome: The completed installation delivered what Hudson Pacific described as a one-of-a-kind experience that captivates, entertains, and educates visitors on the features and benefits of their local properties across carefully selected submarkets. By replacing passive looped displays with interactive, story-driven content, the showroom became a significantly more powerful tool for communicating property quality and investment value to potential clients. _____________________ Skills Demonstrated: UX/UI Design · Interactive Experience Design · User Persona Development · Journey Mapping · Information Design · Data Visualization · Stakeholder Collaboration · Figma
